Radon Contractor Licensing in District of Columbia
District of Columbia licensing
District law sets a proficiency requirement for paid radon work. DC Code section 28-4201 states that no person or company shall conduct radon screening, testing, or mitigation in the District for a fee unless the person performing the service is listed as proficient by the EPA or holds a certificate of proficiency from an organization approved by the Mayor. The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) runs the District's radon program and recommends choosing a contractor certified by AARST or the National Radon Safety Board.
