West Virginia requires a state license for radon work under West Virginia Code Chapter 16, Article 34, Licensure of Radon Mitigators, Testers, Contractors and Laboratories. No business may perform radon mitigation without a valid radon mitigation contractor license, issued by the Radiation, Toxics and Indoor Air Division of the West Virginia Office of Environmental Health Services; applicants must also show NRPP or NRSB certification. Licensed radon contractors are searchable in the division's online licensing records.
